Summer activities at Gålå

High and Low at Gålå

In the middle of the Gålå mountain landscape, you’ll find the Høyt & Lavt climbing park. Here are several courses with ziplines and challenges for both young and old, whether you want a gentle start or dare to venture to the highest treetops.

You can test your balance, height, and courage among the pine trees and fresh mountain air, and if you are high enough, you can probably catch a glimpse of Lake Gålåvatnet.

The climbing park is located adjacent to the ski center and is a great activity offer throughout the summer and autumn for families, friends, and companies alike.

After a few hours on the courses, we bet a break in the sun, a visit to the café Sans for Gålå, or just relaxing with a quiet evening at the cabin will taste extra good.

The climbing park is open on weekends through the autumn break.

We welcome both children and adults!

Equipment rental

At Gålå, there are several opportunities to rent bicycles, canoes, kayaks, and SUP boards.

Horseback riding Gålå

Gålå Sauna | Sauna by Lake Gålåvatnet

Peer’s Sauna

At the end of Lake Gålåvatnet, there are two small wood-fired saunas. Rent a sauna and take a refreshing dip in the lake.

Festival summer at Gålå

The Peer Gynt Cultural Festival

July 30–August 13, 2027

Thorbjørn Harr once again takes the stage by Lake Gålåvatnet as Peer Gynt. Director Peer Perez Øian promises a musical production with a strong team of actors and musicians.

The festival offers much more than the main performance at Gålå. Peeropolis is performed on the new stage by Lake Gålåvatnet, and there will be a festival exhibition in Galleri Låven.

Other highlights during the cultural festival:
  • The Mountain Concert at Rondane
  • The Peer Gynt Party
  • Festival exhibition

During the festival, you can also enjoy great food and drink from Paa Bordet, both in the restaurants and in the food tent.

Rondaståk Mountain Festival

June 17–20, 2027

In 2026, artists like Sivert Høyem, Eva Weel Skram, Odd Nordstoga, Violet Road, and the recent Spellemann prize winner Tobias Sten performed at Gålå. The artists for 2027 haven’t been released yet, but we’re certain it will be a star-studded show.

Rondaståk is known for powerful artist experiences and a very special atmosphere, with an audience ranging from 20 to 70 years old, and the mountains are just as important a part of the experience as the music.

Choose between a day pass or a festival pass for the whole weekend.

Can we help you with the planning?

A trip to Gålå for one of the summer festivals is a great opportunity to explore more of our mountain areas and our region. In the heart of Norway’s most beautiful scenery, you can choose from many great activities, experiences, and exciting cultural events.

Several national parks are an hour’s drive away, including Langsua, Rondane, Dovre, and Jotunheimen. An hour south is Lillehammer, and along the way, you’ll find Fron Water Park, Lilleputthammer, and Hunderfossen Adventure Park.

We would be happy to help you plan your visit for an optimal festival + mountain holiday.
